HMS Colombo was a C-class light cruiser built for the Royal Navy during World War I. She was part of the Carlisle sub-class of the C class. HMS Colombo launched on December 18, 1918 in Fairfield Shipbuilding. In June 1919 to 1926 she joined the Eastern Fleet in the Far East, she was reassigned to the United States and the West Indies waters. In July 1932 to 1935, she returned to the Eastern Fleet.
HMS Colombo was also involved in the pursuit of the German battle cruiser Scharnhorst and Gneisenau . She returned to England to be refurbished by the line, and between August 1940 and June 1942 continue to return to the Eastern Fleet.
Between June 1942 and March 1943 HMS Colombo, along with a sister ship, was converted into an air-defense cruiser and continue to participate at war. HMS Colombo survived both world wars to be scrapped in 1948.
